Heather

Heather is a partner in a rural tourism business on an organic farm in Mid Wales and now lives in Portugal, dividing her time between Portugal and Spain, with regular visits back to the farm in Wales.

She has a background in organic dairy farming on the Welsh borders – being organic since 2006. She has also been a Pasture Fed Livestock member since the early days.

Setting up the 4 lodges on the farm in Wales means that she understands what it takes to take the leap into an unknown diversification project. To create somewhere that guests love to come and stay.

Her life spent living between three different countries and cultures has given her a different perspective on the food and farming landscape of each one.

A non agricultural but interesting fact about Heather is that she spent a summer studying yoga and meditation in India. This has also shaped her views around working in a flow state and not always operating out of stress.

Manuel

Manuel was born and raised in Seville and has deep roots in rural Andalucía, having spent much of his childhood in the mountains near the Portuguese border.

He has a degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin.

Since the 1990s, he has run his own successful business in Seville, working with many specialist rural businesses throughout Andalucía. He knows the region, its people and its economy exceptionally well.

His work includes helping business owners protect their inventions through patents, as well as registering trademarks and trade names. For decades, clients have trusted him to guide them through formal registration procedures and navigate Spanish administrative processes on their behalf. This has given him a practical understanding of how business gets done in Spain—and how to find a way through systems that can be difficult to understand from the outside.

He is also a published author within his profession. In addition, he wrote a book exploring the distinctive language and terminology of farming and country life in southern Spain—a subject he greatly enjoyed researching.

Together, we use our local knowledge and trusted relationships to introduce visitors to people and places they would be unlikely to discover on their own.
